The basis for the universities of applied sciences' freedom of research and teaching remains unchanged

Published: 27.02.2025 / News

According to paragraph 9 of the Universities of Applied Sciences Act, universities of applied sciences are entitled to freedom in teaching and research when carrying out the tasks referred to in the Act. The paragraph serves as a foundation for all activities of Arene and the universities of applied sciences.

This statutory basis should always be considered, but especially at a time when international political guidelines may also be reflected in Finnish higher education and research.
