Arcada is now SeaFocus’ Academic Partner

Last year, a few Arcada students from the degree programmes in Materials Processing Technology and International Business participated in the Intelligence Hunt project organised by SeaFocus. Now the cooperation between Arcada and SeaFocus has taken a step further as Arcada has become an official Academic Partner of SeaFocus. The aim of this partnership is to help develop the Intelligence Hunt concept further with SeaFocus and to find the best resources for the participating companies by spreading information about the project to the students.



SeaFocus is an executive maritime business platform with special services and projects focusing on the development of the maritime industry.



Intelligence Hunt® is a SeaFocus project promoting maritime industry as an attractive career path to the university students, and providing maritime industry and its stakeholders a magnificent possibility to get fresh out-of-the-box solutions and ideas.

Application to #IntelligenceHunt3 is open!

#IntelligenceHunt brings the companies and the universities together by working on real company cases with an innovative out-of-the box concept. Students from various departments are welcomed to apply as candidates. The company cases cover a variety of business’ areas, not only maritime, but also other industries related to maritime business.



The #IntelligenceHunt3 theme is “IIoT and Sustainable Shipping - Cross Industry Learning Curve” and will focus on cargo movements, automation, connectivity and intelligent port operations.



The Finals of the #IntelligenceHunt3 takes place on June 12th, 2018 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Student registration External link will be open until February 25th, 2018.

Number of applicants to Arcada increased

The number of applicants to Arcada increased in the joint application to higher education. Arcada’s new online social work programme also attracted a large number of applicants.

Arcada initiates change negotiations

The Board of Arcada University of Applied Sciences Ltd has decided to initiate change negotiations that apply to all employees. The decision was made on financial grounds and based on the need for concrete measures to reduce costs.
