Jenny created a new concept for an Arcada Pop Up shop

A new fresh layout, new products and plenty of freedom. Online media student Jenny Rissanen developed the concept for the Arcada Pop Up shop – and the end result has been well received by both students and personnel.
Everything started with the course “Pitching ideas” that was introduced to the online media students for the first time this spring.
“One of the ideas was to improve the visibility of Arcada’s web shop both in the Arcada building and online. This was something that immediately caught my attention,” Jenny explains.
And as soon as the course wrapped up, she was offered the opportunity to realize her plans during a work-practice placement at Arcada’s communications department
The freedom to actualize her own ideas
Jenny worked during ten weeks with giving shop.arcada.fi a visual overhaul, while at the same time creating a brand-new concept for a pop up shop, that now can be found next to the Big Square in the Arcada building.
Logos, the structure and the colour palette were some of the things that received a makeover, while e.g. water bottles, bags and pencil cases joined the other products on offer. The technology behind the shop and the product pictures were also renewed during the update.
“Arcada Pop Up shop was planned to be easy to move around, even outside the Arcada building when going on events. At the same time it’s simplistic and versatile,” Jenny says.
She’s very happy about all the positive feedback and the shop’s increased visibility thanks to the project.
“It’s been a lot of fun working with the concept and Arcada shop. I’ve enjoyed the freedom to actualize my ideas and it felt inspiring to do something for my own UAS and also see a concrete end result.”
