Tomas Träskman's research is oriented toward understanding the role of accounting practices and emerging digital infrastructures in various organizational and social contexts. He focuses on empirical research and attempts to understand the cognitive value of technology and the consequences of technologies on responsibilities and accountability. In his recent research, Träskman delves into participatory budgeting platforms as a tool for distributive action. He examines their role in disclosing new forms of value and the ghostly presence and absence of neglected and undesired things. Through his studies, he offers fresh perspectives on accountability, knowledge management, and the socio-materiality of technology in shaping urban governance and sustainability efforts.

Tomas Träskman is Principal Lecturer in Accountability and Sustainability & Quality Coordinator

Träskman also has long career in Arts. He is an experienced director, teacher, curator, researcher, with a demonstrated history of working with innovation and experimentation. In the beginning of the millenia he was part of the movement in academia/art towards conceptualizing 'artistic research'. His recent research in arts explores the integration of technology in cultural heritage, focusing on how youth engage with digital tools in museums. Using a socio-material approach, he examines how youth interact with technology in their daily lives and its impact on their cognition and engagement with cultural heritage.

In terms of artistic publications Tomas has "published" together with the artist group YKON on some of the most prestigious scenes in the art world, such as Palais de Tokyo (France), Venice Biennale (Italy), MOCA (Taipei), Brioni (Utopia/Crotia).)
